DVD Floating Landscape
image
A decent image, but Universe could have improved it (like with the Twins Effect one...). It's 16:9, quite clean, with good colors, but the compression is not perfect, and it could have been much sharper. A bit disappointing.
sound
For a 2003 movie, it's also disappointing to see that we only have a stereo mix here... But from what I can remember from the theatre mix, it was not very dynamic, and the credits displays a "Dolby Digital" logo without any more precision. The stereo mix could also have been encoded in PCM, avoiding a compression at an average rate of 128 kbps... But overall, the sound is quite ok, just not wonderful.
subtitles
No particular problems.
special features
A decent package of special features, but without subs. The making of seems interesting and shows images from the shooting. Then you can find also a music clip, trailers, pics, and filmos.
menus
Nice animated menus, with fast transitions. Nice cover also, with a cardboard case.
quality/price ration
That's surely not as good as the best Universe DVDs. The image and sound are not top-notch, and the special features would have deserved some subs and interviews. Still, that's a very decent way to discover this interesting movie.
